Who We Are

The IATSE is the labor union which represents stage employees, moving picture technicians, and craft persons in the entertainment industry which includes live theater, film, and television production. We are the union of men and women who work behind the scenes of the entertainment industry.

Stagehands, riggers, gaffers, grips, greens-persons, wardrobe workers, best boys, prop-makers, set dressers, grips, electricians, special effects producers, medics, craft service workers, sound people and scenic artist technicians make the “magic” behind the scenes happen.

As a Union, we negotiate contracts with companies that provide our members with decent wage, health, and retirement benefits.

We have been serving the theater, convention and film Industries in the State of Nevada since 1914. Since the birth of our organization 100 years ago, IATSE Stagehands and Movie Operators have been joined by a great variety of other crafts such as motion pictures, television production, product demonstration, industrial shows, conventions, facility maintenance, audio visual presentation, and motion picture computer graphics. Technicians and artist from all these crafts have all banded together to achieve the maximum unified strength possible.
